Additional + Proof
by Júlia Vécsei
How do we see situations in retrospect? As time goes on, a past event or phenomenon often aquires new layers of meaning. The series of drawings called Additional show the event and its effect next to one another, simultaneously. I depict the phenomenon through shifts, using the technique of copying.
The subject of the other one indigo drawing series, entitled Proof, is the immediate or subsequent conceptual alteration - beautification. The question is: what if (this had) …? Intervention into an established, customary process. What sort of different meaning does it take on? In these pictures, I only show the “re-written” state.
The Proof may be considered a continuation of the Additional.
