MINDBANG
by Pedro Luis Cembranos
Mindbang is the result, in the form of 35mm slides shot manually, of the re-reading of the social codes apparent in the behaviors derived from modern leisure. It also shows the dysfunctional patterns that govern the holiday periods within the family nucleus and structure
The series of 80 slides developed, illustrates the forms that modern leisure and welfare abjection and phantasmagoria take.
For this purpose, original color slides from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s were used, all of them coming from anonymous family albums and collections. These slides, of the standard film size of 24 by 36 millimeters, have been shredded and manually painted over with the help of magnifying glasses.
